MAUREEN MAHON
Vocals

Maureen is featured on: "Echoes of Pink" - a tribute to Pink Floyd; "Number One Again " - a tribute to the Beatles; and a currently untitled tribute to Elvis Presley, all available on Amazon.com through Lakeshore Records. All of the tracks feature up-and-coming female vocalists performing acoustic versions of the legendary songs.

Maureen has a rather varied list of accomplishments from musical theatre (playing Lucy Brown in "The Three Penny Opera" and vamping as Joan Crawford in the long-running "Jimmy’s Hollywood Spirits"), to improvisation (having studied and performed with The Groundlings and Second City), to studying and performing with performance art legend Rachel Rosenthal, to reigning as L.A.’s first powerful door woman at the exclusive nightclub, Flaming Colossus. But when Maureen found her way to the jazz section of a used record store, the title of "jazz singer" was added to her resume. Her first jazz band was a group of old homeless guys with whom she utilized her performance art experience in giving popular rock songs (like " Purple Haze") a beatnik twist. A former model, standing 6'2" in heels, Maureen was described by a reviewer as somewhere between Judy Garland and Grace Jones. In 1999, Maureen formed The Vicious Circle with Cheche Alara, Dave Allen and Jon Button who, in spite of their busy touring schedules, are always happy to return to their original love - jazz, baby!
